I think the color's amber. I'm not into quilt tops myself, but someone will love it
his BIN, however is almost what a new one goes for, so it makes me wonder about how reasonable his reserve is ... I'd hope someone could get this for ~ $1K ... at least, I think $900 - $1000 is probably about right

As much as I love Hamers, I would never buy one made from the mid 80's up to 1993. Most of those necks are pencil thin, as Hamer was trying to cash in on the shredder trend back then. My favorites are the early ones and the ones made 1994-present.

Bought one a couple of years ago that puts that one to shame.

There's no reserve on the auction so it'll probably go for around $850 or so.
I had a '92 very similar to that one. Kind of a wide flat neck shape. And the pickups are out of phase that year so it'll have that thin, nasal Peter Green thing going for it when you combine the pickups.

Yeah, the key is being patient. A year or two ago, I saw these guitars selling for around $500 on the used market. I think people are starting to catch on though, as I've seen them going for $600-$800 lately. Thanks to the "battle scar," I picked this one up back in May for $600. The emerald green finish is beautiful, it has a nice flametop (really stands out in better lighting,) and I managed to get one with a fairly thick neck. Hamer was all over the place with the neck thickness in '94.
