Very nice, I really like G&L guitars and that one is no exception. The burst headstock is a nice touch.

^ well, since he's posted the link, it should only be a matter of hours before the confirmation of purchase from Orpheo.

Re: ebay likes to taunt me (G & L)

Forget that, just buy a Gibson Les Paul and get it over with.

Re: ebay likes to taunt me (G & L)

Aw, drop the talking, just get it on with the buying, you know you end up there anyway.

Re: ebay likes to taunt me (G & L)

I've never played a G&L that wasn't an incredible guitar. Everyone haas their own neck preference, but in my hands theirs are the best.

I LOVE G&Ls! I have 18 of them, all strat-styled Legacy bodies except for one ASAT Deluxe.

Here's one of my Comanches in the Tobacco Sunburst finish on end-cut ash. Note the gun-oil tint neck finish of the Comanche. It is very similar to the the Legacy HB in the auction. On the right is an S-500 in a three-color sunburst on ash. The S-500 has a JB, Jr. bridge pickup. It has a lot of trouble keeping up with the high-output MFD pickups in the neck and middle.

And here are three more of my beauties. The ash body Transparent Blonde Legacy on the left has the Antiquity Texas Hot set, with the Custom Bridge and the RW/RP middle. (The color always make me think of a vanilla malt!) The ash Butterscotch Blonde in the middle is a Legacy Special, and it features the gun-oil tint on a birdseye maple neck with an ebony fingerboard; and the stock Gotoh Dual Blade pickups. The Fullerton Red Legacy is also stock. The gun-oil tint goes very nicely with the orange hue of the body.

Very nice guitars indeed. I bought a pair of Music Man Sabre IIs back in the late '70s, so I've known about G&L since the beginning. I got my first G&L in the early 1990s after a divorce forced me to sell my 1960 Strat. I sometimes miss the prestige of owning that guitar, but I honestly feel that these are better guitars.

haha, funny stuff guys.

wow, 18! some real lookers there.

with a fender and an old music man in the stable, I'd love to come full circle with a G&L. tis true I want a paul, but one of these would also be a lifetime keeper for me. I'm surprised I'm just starting to realize it, but I'm also just getting into single coils, vintagy feeling axes, etc. Been a long time coming.

Re: ebay likes to taunt me (G & L)

I got my first G&L last June and I know it won't be my last. Problem is that there is too much time in between.

:banghead:

Those are some real nice guitars you guys got. :friday:

What you need is an old F100.

Mine's a 1980 Series I.

Mahogany body with maple neck with a pair of MFD humbuckers . The pickups also split to single coil.

It sounds nothing like a Strat, Les Paul or Tele, it very much has it's own thing going on.

It's a beauty! I've got a black Rustic on layaway right now. Should be getting it soon!

different strokes for different folks.....G&L and Gibson aren't really in the same camp

I have a place in my collection for all of them.

And if someone wants a G&L over a Fender it only makes sense to suggest a Heritage over a Gibson.
