eddie van halens new amp

a while back you guys were talking about eddie going back to marshall. do you guys have any newer info on what amp hes gonna be using now. thanx

According to those who spoke to Jim Marshall at NAMM, there was no and is no EVH Marshall coming out. What we have here is boredom mixed with active imaginations starting rumors with no truth to them. Folks need to play more and think less!

I honestly think afte reading about 20 different threads from this forum adn others, that ED is gonna go with Crate. It's really not that off the wall to say that , as Sammy has an endorsment with crate and uses them live.

Maybe Ed heard something he liked, I don't know and other than waht I just said have no clue about what the man is thinking about anymore.

IF and that is a big IF , he went with Marshall , I think that they would be so expensive that your aver age guy wouldn't be able to afford it.

fftopic: I would like to tknow this also, wiht as much money he has made in his lifetime and with all the DECENT brands of guitars that he has played\endorsed over the years, Why is Paul Stanley endorsing silvertone guitars?!

FIrst off, I know Kiss has been around forever and are on the downside of their carrer, but I would think that any Co. would let him design another guitar and call it whatever he wanted.

I still think the PS-10 is an awesome guitar, but when he did them, they were and still are very expensive and now you can buy a pice of crap with his name on it for less than 400.00.

What's the deal, adn before you guys say $$$$, He has got to have more cash than he will ever need and I would think that endorsing a product like that would just be like admitting you are on your way out!

I'm a big EVH fan, but could really care less what amp he's using. He's awesome and everything, but I can find my own tone just fine without copying his.

And I loved Paul Stanley's Washburn's and Ibanez's, even BC Rich... But those Silvertones are crap. At least he knows to use seymour duncan pick-ups.

Well, I've got a 5150 Combo, but I didn't get it to sound like EVH. I just thought it had it's own voice which didn't sound like anything else out there. It certainly doesn't sound like EVH of old.

I have no interest in what EVH does gear wise. The tone on VH3 and the last tour have ensured my suspicions that the man has hearing damage. Still love my 5150 Combo though.

PS endorses silvertones, but if one watches the Alive IV video, you would see that what he plays is NOT a silvertone but a custom made neck thru Apocalypse style

The "Pro" versions of his silvertone guitars come with Seymour Duncan's equiped stock, that is what I was refering to. I don't know what pick-ups Paul actually has in his axe.

Not really. From what I've gathered, he _does_ use Super Distortions on the guitars he plays.
