Eek! My Wire Is Too Short!

I have a '59 neck bucker and the leads are too short. It has the single hotwire with the metal braid on the out side. Can I just get some more wire like that, wire the hots together then overlap the braids and solder those together? The lead is short by about 1/2" SO annoying.

Thanks,
Eric

yes you can. if you dont care what it looks like you can just splice two wires on there. i hate when the leads are too short, i just had to rewire a strat for a guy who cut his leads as close to the flatwork as possible.

he paid extra for that aggrivation

I've had to do this meeself. You can extend the wires the way you said, and you don't have to use braid wire to extend the braid; you can use regular wire. I did and there was no problem.
