Eganter TOL series amp

Over the years I've missed out on several opportunities to snap up some great deals on TOL-50 heads. They seem to get rave reviews and most of the TOL clips I've heard have been VERY nice. My impression is that they kind of do the fender meets vox meets marshall thing but with a unique voice of their own.

With the TOL-50 at least, these amps seem fairly straight forward but with just enough features to run without other gear to make a versatile rig for rock music. The TOL-100 on the other looks like a quite beast with all it's options.

I'm so jealous that you guys in the US can get a setup like this for not much at all

So anyways, I'd thought I'd ask you guys what you think of them. If I see another TOl-50 pop-up here for a good price I may be very tempted jump on it. The "Boutique" tag gets put on these amps a lot but they don't seem to go for boutique prices. Are they an underrated gem?

Re: Eganter TOL series amp

Never played a TOL, but my buddy has an Egnater MOD-50 head.

(modular head where you can buy $400 all tube modules and drop them into the all tube powered head)

And all I can say is that thing is THE BEST thing going. I've met Bruce Egnater multiple times, and he is SUPER nice and very knowledgable, and builds killer gear. Frank at Egnater is awesome too.

Buy bud has the MOD50 with some Fender, vox, marshall, and other mods. and they all sound VERY accurate, and just killer tone.

So although I've never heard a TOL, I'd bet money on the fact that it sounds great.

Re: Eganter TOL series amp

the tol 100 is a killer amp with loads of gain and a smooooth tone with sustain for days, im sure the 50 is a great amp too

Re: Eganter TOL series amp

Mod 50 if you can spring it. IT's just sick. I picked one up about 2 months ago and am just floored. Bruce builds/designs great stuff.
