Electro Harmonix Guy

Hey, haven't posted on here in awhile due to internet problems. I really dig electro harmonix pedals, I have a holy grail which is totally sweet and I have an analogman small stone coming tomorrow (schwing!). Totally dig their other pedals especially some of the wierd ones like the pog. My question for any of you guys in the know is about these nano pedals. I know they have these smaller variations of pedals like the muff. I'm a skeptic if there ever was one. What's the downside to these smaller pedals? I'm really considering a few of these for my pedalboard.

Re: Electro Harmonix Guy

One of the huge complaints with the EHX line was the size, they basically ipdated a lot of their older designs and made them more compact. The Nano Stone is supposed to sound exactly like the Small Stone, but with no volume drop and obviously a smaller footprint. IIRC, the Nano Clone does not have the Color switch, and doesn't sound quite as good as the Small Clone. I've also heard the Little Big Muff is actually a better pedal than the reissue Big Muff.

Once again, this is all heresay, I haven't tried any of them (already have the Stone, Clone, and a few Muffs) The Nano Q looks pretty cool though.

Hmm, sounds good. I'm interested in getting a muff eventually. Anyone else wanna chime in?
My first guitar pedal ever was a EH Little Big Muff . I remember it best for that smooth violin type sustain , then again it was somewhere around 1980 and I used it with a Kay SG copy guitar and a Peavey backstage plus amp . Also it took me a few years to figure out that Distortion pedals are designed to be played through the clean channel . I still liked the sound for lead the best ...reminded me of some Frank Marino stuff

see what happens when you ask someone to chime in:onder: :rocket:

Check with Howard Davis. He's an extremely knowledgeable guy who's happy to help you out with EH questions, especially since he designed a lot of their circuits. He'll give you no-bones responses.

Re: Electro Harmonix Guy

i own the Little Big Muff- i hear more dirt coming from this one than its full-sized sibling; the reason i bought it.

i also own the NANO Metal Muff/ Muff Overdrive:
*the Metal Muff is the no-frills version of its bigger siblings, it does the job just as well.

*the Muff Overdrive has less drive so i'm using it as a booster instead of a stand-alone fuzz unit. it's conceived not to be daisy chained so if you're not a battery person, this one shouldn't be on your acquisition list...
