emergency please help !!!!!!!!

in this very moment im changing the bridge pickup from my les paul , it is a 4 conductor pickup , buti cant figure it out how, im looking at the diagram and says green and bare soldered to the groud ? what does ground means where do i solder ??????? and red and white soldered toguether and isulated ? i just solder them toguether and thats it or whta ?????? so the black cable its just gonna go to the volume and thats it or what
