EMG-HZ pickups

I have a H4, H4A, & 4 S3's in both my Jacksons now. Should i upgrade to Duncans or leave them ? I like the tone i get, just thought id ask. :13:

I had a set of HZ's and they worked fine... although I don't tend to keep anything for very long.

So, I guess I'm saying the HZ's are good, but with all the options Seymour Duncan has there probably is something better...

Noted Kac. Think il go with a JB in one and a Custom in the other. As for the mid & neck ?

I'm not gonna make a reccomendation for mid and neck, but I will say the JB is my personal favorite pick-up, and I think you'll have a good time with it!

ive had 2 guitars with HZ-1's. theyre not bad for stock, but not great in general. the neck pickup isnt all that bad. the bridge is pretty weak though

Good stock pickups. If you like the sound, dont change em.

i would say do change them. where would we be without expirimentation? you can always change them back if you find the HZ's are better or exchange the new pickups for others.

But pickups cost money. If i had the cash I would change out the stock pickups in all my guitars. Some are unbearable though. If money isn't a factor, then trash the HZs and get youself some Duncans.

they arent bank breakers. its a good idea to help develop your sound. and i think hes considering.

depends what you like.. alexi laiho uses EMG HZs, i think H2 and H4 for his personal guitars, even the signature model takes HZs over the 'real' EMGs..

then again, not everyone wants to sound like COB

i personally dont like the sound of the hz i think it sounds somewhat choppy for my playing but if i were u and i liked wat i had i wouldnt change it

Went to GC today, bought a JB and a Custom. From what i hear they both should rip.

Can you write a review on those 2 pups after?

I'm going to put a Custom on my Epi LP, and thinking of the JB if my friend sold me his Orville LP.
