EMG SPC control

you guys ever try the EMG SPC mid-boost control?

today I played an ESP Jeff Hanneman sig (in cool urban camo finish) through a Marshall 2203 reissue....and was blown away. I've never liked the tone of the EMG 81, but combined with the SPC it sounds righteous! turned up to a little below half, the tone was soooooooo thick and fat and chunky...yet still had that clarity and razorsharp pick attack :knockedou this, combined with the Kahler 2315, made me wanna buy this axe on the spot. but there's no way in hell I'm paying $2900...I don't care who's friggin name is on it :argh:

Re: EMG SPC control

I loves me my Dave Gilmour set in my strat. The SPC & EXG work very well with the SA's.

eyah, spc is awesome, i bought the RPC,SPC and EXG, the batteries don't last much though ;]

need to figure out a way to wire an off switch

I've had over 500 playing hours on my DG20 with the same battery. Perhaps some wiring is wrong?

Provided you unplug the guitar when you are not using it they should last for at least 1000 playing hours.

As a big Gilmour fan i was always thrilled by the emg dg system that uses the SA's and the SPC (and EXG) but untill now i have never got the chance to try it out. I have guitars with the emg SA singles but not with the spc. So at what levels does the output of the sa's reach when associated with the spc? Compared with a pickup of the duncan range where is the output situated?
