EMGS Installed, weird sound coming from them

[WITH FULL DISTORTION]

Hails guys
i finally installed the emgs, but i may be installed or soldere something wrong.. because the pickups sound thin, and without sustain at all.. kinda WEAK.
any tips on where the problem is!?

Is your battery still good? Also, is the battery wire properly soldered to the output jack?

well, i have a brand new battery here.
it´s not the battery.

Just because it's new doesn't mean its good. I've noticed with my EMG's that when the battery's voltage drops below 8v they start to sound like ass. Get a multimeter and check the voltage on the battery and check ALL your solder connections. Remember, small mistakes can totally screw with your sound.

Is your guitar cord plugged in the jack all the way? EMG jacks are pretty tight; once you hear it click, you might need to push it in a little more. I had that same problem when I got my first guitar with EMGs... the sound was weak with distortion, and the clean sound was slightly distorted.

well my EMG's certainly don't sound weak :smokin: definitely mash my JB and Distortion pickups from my other guitars for metal. Love em

EMG are not very clear on this in their installation guide. :dunno:

i just solved it
i messed up the solder
Q:/
now it´s fixed
AWESOME sound
MY OLD emg 81 were broken
this new one if working 100%

EMG are not very clear on this in their installation guide. :dunno:

Yeah they do, and that didn't help when I was wiring them into an Ibanez which has 3 leads instead of the HZ's 4 plus the siver stuff, lol.
