but that's when I could easily counter argue it didn't have the right speaker for you, I'm not at all afraid to mod gear to make it more ME for lack of better words. I find that speaker swaps 9 times out of 10 fix the things I'm "missing" in amps for me.
Speaker swaps, tube swaps, pickup swaps, hand cut bone nuts, personalized setup work, etc. Setup your gear the way you want it to sound and play.
It's tough to judge a lot of things in their stock form anymore because so many companies cut corners to keep costs down, so unless you have bookoo bucks to buy something chances are you are going to have to make minor workarounds.
Hey man. I struggled with the lack of mids and warmth for years but always found ways to sort of pull it off; mic placement, post-EQ work with the soundmen, pedals, etc.
Turns out the stock speaker was the problem all along.
With the additional cab it's pretty much a new amp.
