enlighten me please

I am new here could someone please enlighten me to or at leaste explain what to look for in a pick up? I have been playing for just over a year, but want to get more sound out of my epiphone/gibson special.

Hello and welcome....Well...First you have to know what you dislike about your current pickups and then based on your style and your favorite players decide on what your new pickups will do...

Some examples would be....More note clarity,more lows,darker tone,brighter tone,more mids,more output,.....First try to find out specifically what your favorite players use and then narrow things down..

Hey, welcome to the board. Duncan provides a great range of pickups, covering every style and guitar. What kind of guitar do you play, whats your musical style, and what amps/effects are you running through? This will help us figure out some options for your guitar.
