Enter the Partscaster

Took me a while and a lot of wheeler dealing, but I finally got a Strat I've had my eye on for a couple of months. Custom Shop Blackie body refinned, Custom Shop Fat 50s pups and an old Fullerton '57 neck. I am in love.

Seafoam green and daphne blue just rock on Strats...though I am a little tempted to but a tortoiseshell guard on her.

Rock on man, that axe is smokin!!!!

If it sounds 1/4 as good as it looks, then you have a killer axes for sure.

Re: Enter the Partscaster

That's a beauty. Although I have a few Strats with the tortise guard,
I think it would ruin the Mojo that axe exudes. Great find.

Peace,

Yes, indeed. I was gonna ask how it feels and sounds?

It's pretty light - noticeably lighter than my Lone Star Strat. The maple neck feels fantastic; nicely chunky and the board is really grippy and played-in. One of those necks you feel like you've been playing for years within a few minutes of messing around on it.

Bridge pup is slightly microphonic and sounds nice driven for a 60s classic overdrive, but is pretty thin on a clean channel - not brittle, but not a useable sound for my purposes; mid and neck have a lovely, characterful sound, less ballsy than the Texas Specials I A/B'd it against but with more clarity and still a nice thickness to the sound. Lovely break-up when the amp is just hitting the sweet spot, great for blues and 60s sounds as you'd expect. Between the oldish wood and the pups, it just has a lot more character than the Lone Star (which is a '94) but doesn;'t have as much balls. Which justifies keeping both!

I'm a huge fan of seafoam green on guitars. That Strat is very sweet.I daresay it puts the Road Worn series to shame! lol
