hi all, i was curious what i could do as far as options with my epi dot studio with 2 dpdt and 2 p-rails and 2 tripleshots? im farely new to this advanced kinda wiring and was hoping someone could help with a schematic and or tips. :thanks:

Well, since the tripleshots handle the series/parallel and split to each coil, all the dpdts can do is phase inversion and series/parallel with each other.

The triple shots are good in that they give you a lot of options, but tanstaafl (there aint no such thing as a free lunch). Because you are taking four wires from the pickup and getting two from the triple shot, there are several options that are eliminated, such as spin-a-split pots or coil swapping (search the forum for these if you're not familiar).

The only use that comes immediately to mind for one of the dpdts is to do a phase reverse on one of the pickups. It doesn't gain you anything to do phase swithching on both, because they are either going to be in phase or out of phase.

I assume that you are thinking of replacing the tone and volume pots with dpdt push/pulls, and not modifying the guitar by drilling any extra holes. I also assume that the dot has one tone and one volume control now. If all that is true, my advice would be to forget about push/pull switches and get a couple of concentric 500K pots and knobs so that you can have independent tone & vol for each pickup. Then go with the triple shot rings.
