A Ficus
Played one this afternoon at a local "small box" music store
http://www.epiphone.com/Products/Les-Paul/Les-Paul-Tribute-Plus-Outfit.aspx
the 57 classic humbuckers and USA wiring harness and Chinese crafted body makes for a stunning instrument
I was impressed
I tried the 339 and the Dot and Sheraton
the Tribute was by far the nicest sounding one
oh and they had a nice vintage Twin Reverb to play through
I was looking for the Florentine
http://www.epiphone.com/Products/Les-Paul/Ltd-Ed-Les-Paul-Standard-Florentine-PRO.aspx
but he had none in stock
the owner is gonna call round for one
I played the Gibson ES Les Paul last weekend at the GC round the corner
and it was amazing
but I really cant justify a $2K axe right now
the Epi and an electronics swap would be less than $1K
the Gibson 57 Classics are outrageously priced
wonder which duncans would give that same tone?
I also want to look at the Ultra III
http://www.epiphone.com/Products/Les-Paul/Les-Paul-Ultra-III.aspx
thats some serious features in there
