Re: Epic New Guitar Day - ULTRA REVEAL
Review on the Guitars:
#1 The Jackson Jenna Jameson; Basically a King V with a graphic top. This thing is on the older side. I'd say it is pretty close to the JS32's in terms of overall feel of the neck. Really nice. The pickups are Duncan HB103's, so Distortions. That's a bonus. Used for a steal!
#2 The Dean 1980 Cadillac; This is a Korean import dean, and of the usual high quality. The recent ones, which this is have the contour on the body which feels nice. The DMT pickups are pretty good too. Kind of hot-ish PAF's and great overall sound. Wiring is Bridge/bridge-middle, and neck. Overall plays and feels fantastic. Again - used for a steal!
#3 The Stiletto; Two channels of EL34 goodness! This thing does two very cool clean tones, and a fantastic Marshall crunch channel. Presence knob, master volume, and solo volume are awesome features. Been running in 50 watt mode. 100 watt just roars like a 747!!!! The cloned crunch channel is a very cool addition - I could play on just the crunch channel and be super happy. That said - the site and fluid gain are awesome too. Fluid is a really neat half boogie half Marshall sound. If you switch the diodes in back, go "spongy" you can nail VH. There are just a ton of awesome sounds in this thing.
#4 And as for the Gibson....I can't lie. well, I can - but It was actually a CF Martin SPX!!!!!! I doctored the headstock myself with a Gibson decal (and did a pretty ok job first time out. The pickup in there, however, is a 59/Custom wound by Odie (RIP). It is a solid Les Paul period! I'm guessing made in Japan, but don't know. Couldn't resist an explorer headstock LP!!!!!
