Epiphone Elitist vs. mid-priced Gibson les pauls?

I was just browsing on ebay and i was looking at epiphone les pauls. Man, those elitist look amazing!!! And i was wondering, how do these compare to the lower priced les pauls? Ex. how would an epiphone elitist compare to a gibson les paul classic?

I'd say go with the gibson. But thats just me i prefer gibson over epiphone. BUT the epiphone elitist series have amazing axes. Haven't tried the lp plsu but i played an elitist custom and studio LP both were excpetionally well made and sounded great. BUt to me the gibson feels more right compared to the gibson LP studio i plan on buying the gibson studio now because to me it just seems better maybe its a mental thing. either way you cant go wrong and if that guitar makes you soudn good get it! gibson or epiphone both are great choies.

I'm looking at an Epi Elitist LP right now myself. Seems like it should be a pretty good guitar, but I'm not sure whether I'll get it or not. I'm REAL picky.

So am i, which is why i am not planning on buying an epiphone because it is an epiphone guess im just a snob but i wnat a gibson not a epiphone. its really all personal preference though

I'm currently looking at japanese made LP too.

I completely felt in love with an Epi Elitist Std Plus, which felt, sounded, played waaay better than the all the Gibsons in the store (there were about 4-5 not much...)... well here in Canada, I think we have the worst Gibsons... the great ones are kept in Memphis, the good ones are shipped thru the US, and the worst ones... rest of the world, including Canada... :rant:

That's probably why I always felt the japanese copies were way better than the LP we have here.

hmm thats a good theory i live in canada but in toronto very close to the borders of america would that make a difference????
