Epiphone les paul needs new p'ups

Hello,

It seems that some epiphone lespaul need a p'ups upgrade lately. Not really surprising. Well, here is another one:

The p'ups of my epiphone go crazy each time I turn up the volume a bit to play with friends. Furthermore, the neck p'ups sounds so muddy, I don't even remember using it.

I have been looking on the forum these last weeks and haven't seen anybody speaking about the combination that sounds to fit for the kind of music I wanna play. Maybe for a reason?... Most of the time, I play hard rock (Slash's bands, Alice in chains, Led Zeppelin,...) or pop rock on my marshall 80w valvestate, but I am also taking more and more interest in playing some jazz.

I 'd like to improve my axe with a SH-2 jazz in the neck position and a 59 model for the bridge. From what I've seen on the forum and the samples I heard on the SD site (but are they really reliable), the SH-2 offers a nice and precise clean tone whereas the 59 model would give a more vintage sound than my Gibson Les paul studio (490R and 498T).

I am quite satisfied with the gibson p'ups, however I am looking for something a little bit warmer for the epiphone.

What do you think about my proposition? Will the tone of these two p'ups fit together?
