Epiphone Les Paul Recommendations - Advise - Amendment to Previous Post

Ok this is an amendment to my other post. I wasn't very clear because I was in a rush. I am looking for recommendations of ANY brand, not just SD of pickups (bridge and neck) for my epiphone les paul. I have the slightly upgraded pickups which came in the Epiphone Ultra. I want a sound that is versatile, something that can handle indie rock to metal, but hanging more in the middle of the road. Something that has awesome lead sound, from Satriani to Metallica.

I have seriously considered Gibson Burstbucker Pro's and like every other review I have read, they were mixed. I have spent much time on the tone guide on SD and above is the best way I can describe what I am looking for.
It may sound like I am looking for too much, but there has to be a combination of pickups that can have solid elegant lead parts, to crunchy clear bar chords, to versatile soloing capabilities.

Wow I ran the gamit and I am probably babbling. Honest feedback is appreciated, anyone who knows about pickups in general would be of service, in case there is something other than the SD's.

Welcome to the forum.

Sounds like you want your LP to cover lots of ground, but maily hard rock. I'd highly recommend a C5 in the bridge. My fav in the neck is the '59. I've tested several SD pup combinations, and this is my fav, I loaded it into 2 Epi LP's and 1 set into my Gibson LP standard.

The C5b is everything I was looking for in a brdige pup. It sound heavy and crunchy. The highs are perfect. Not piercing, but with alot of power. Rolling back the volume knob cleans it up veyr well too.

I've tried other SD pups such as the JB, APII, Jazz, & Custom and the C5 is probably the best for the syles you listed.

Sorry, I've never tried the other bands other than EMG and Gibson pups.

Custom does Metallica quite well. C5 may be a little more organic. Distortion may do the trick as well.
