Epiphone Les Pauls

Re: Epiphone Les Pauls

That's 'cuz you got a Blue Sparkly!! Sweetness!! :bling:

And it can be yours for the small sum of $375 plus actual shipping.;):)

I've recorded alot of songs with that guitar. It's a great guitar, but unfortunately, I just don't really ever play it anymore.

It's a nice guitar...but like most of the world's guitars....it's backwards.

Here's a few that were made the right way!!!!!!

Re: Epiphone Les Pauls

Even I'm getting tired of this. (Not the pictures of cool guitars, but the nastiness.) My second favorite guitar right now is an Epi that I butchered beyond recognition. (You guys have seen it.) I'm still going to keep an open mind about everything and see if my desire for Gibson Les Pauls ever coincides with my ability to pay for them. Until then, I'm happy to play and learn as much as I can on this living, breathing monster right here:

Re: Epiphone Les Pauls

I bought a 97-98 Epi LP that played great and looked good. The stain around the binding is not as crisp as the Gibson and the poly finish is a mile thick but it's a good platform for hot rodding. The LP now has Gibson '57 and '57 Plus pups (the Samsungs are muddy with no definition) and a varitone switch to roll off different frequencies. I stacked the tone pot so to put the varitone in place of one of the tone pots. Added a Gibson TP6 tailpiece and Ping tuners. GraphTech Tusq nut and saddle in place of the low grade plastic. So I've got between $800-$900 in the LP that plays great, sounds better and costs only 20-25% of a Gibson custom shop comparable. Now the resale value won't be as much but I have confidence that with care this guitar will still be cranking out blues in 100+ years.

See, here's the thing. I really honestly believe that the most important part of your rig is your amp.

But guitars are gorgeous.

Hello

Is it worth it to buy a Epi Les Paul or should I save up more and get a Gibson Les Paul Studio?

Would a Schecter Tempest Black Jack be better?

Help

I have an epi Black beauty 3 PU and love it. I did restring it differently though, but it has great action now and sounds fantastic. I was a bit concernced on purchasing it, but once i did some adjustments it all fell together.
I would play a few prior to purchase though. I have played some really sucky ones.
