so I put it first and played with it for 2 hours... seems to thicken it up but I feel like it either becomes too muddy or too bright with the mids up and playing with the treble sliders.... I'll figure It out I guess...

ok, something useful.... place it in the fx loop of your amp. EQs in general work better in the loop, but your Behringer eq pedal will add a lot of noise making it useless.

Hmm I put it infront of my amp before my drives... not really any noise , I must be lucky or you are just putting down Behringer cause its cheap

Yeah I have heard a lot of good about Behringer stuff and not just the pedals.. The EQ I got does its job and does not have a lot of hiss so its a good pedal in my book

Oh haha ... went right over my head
I have no problem using Behringer stuff, I have a mix of boutique and inexpensive pedals on my board... I don't discriminate

By let down they failed or you just did not like them ? When it comes to something as simple as EQ I couldn't care less what make it is

EQ is a very powerful tool and should be taken just as seriously as any other effect.
I'll start off with full disclosure: I have never owned a Behringer pedal, mainly because my experiences with their other gear was so bad it put me off the brand entirely.
My first Behringer was a compact mixer. I used it for a bit of level setting and EQing in front of my audio interface. It got the job done at first, but then it started to hiss. I couldn't turn the mic pres up at all without it adding hiss. Even the playback was hissy. Assuming it was defective I went to the store and listened to their floor model. Same thing. I sold it ASAP and replaced it with a Yamaha board that was much, much better (though still not a great board by any means).
A few years later, I gave them another chance with one of their headphone amps. Same problem: tons of hiss.
A friend who works at a music store says they had one of their larger boards. Its PCB cracked under its own weight when it was lifted up out of the box. Completely ruined before anyone even plugged it in.
They are cheap because they're built cheaply. You get what you pay for. They steal other designs (e.g. Mackie boards) and build them as cheaply as they can, cutting corners everywhere.

That sucks, I have never used any of their gear but my brother has had their cheapest tuner pedal on his board since the early 2000s with no problems so that's the main reason why I got this EQ. It does exactly what I wanted it to and theres barely any hiss like the Boss EQ so I guess I lucked out or they make things better these days... Could also be that the pedals they make are better made then the more complicated mixers and whatnot
You get what you pay for and I paid 26 bucks for an awesome EQ

Congrats on the new pedal!
To maybe help answer the Behringer hate; I have an older Behringer amp that's pretty decent but other products that werent. Thing with them is their products are hit and miss. Had several pedals and some were great and some just didn't work well at all so they've gotten the reputation of being throw away equipment. Hope you have good luck wit your EQ. Should preform likie a boss ge7 eq.
Almost always I keep the EQ pedal in the effects loop. I may play with position, first-middle-last but always after the preamp of the amp and usually the first pedal. I like it to shape the amps preamp and gain or whatever dirt pedal I have in front of the amp. Also, keeping the eq in the loop will help keep ihat eq hiss that usually goes along with those pedals down.

thanks jpistolas.... I will try it in the loop too. I have dedicated this evening to experimenting with placement of it and getting the settings right with my new P-90 guitar!

It's funny you say it's quieter than a Boss GE-7, because that's exactly what it's a clone of.
The GE-7 itself is a bit noisy though.

Yeah It could be because i'm not really boosting the treble sliders up as much but its pretty quiet even at rehearsal volume last night. I could for sure see myself getting an MXR 10 band though in the future for more versatility
