Hope they work better for you because right now, spending money on something for it to suck is a bad thing.
We all know how the string thing goes. I like EB, have no probs with rusting, consistency, etc.,and absolutely hate the dunlops which feel and sound a year old right outta the pack to me. And i am one of those guys who is lucky to get 2 weeks out of any brand string before they are dead, or notched to pieces. There is no universal awesome string brand and no universal horrid string brand in my experience. I can hate one brand/type on guitar x and love them on guitar y.
Hands down in my opinion, the most consistent, great sounding and great priced strings, are the D'Addario XLs...Been using these for "alot" of years!
This is exactly what I mean, john. Tomy ears the dad XL wound strings are muddy as can be, and the high strings sound scratchy/screechy. Doesnt matter if its singles or humbuggies, i dont like the tone. They are very consistent for feel and intonation however.
I have had better luck with the EXP coated versions.
Dont get me started on the "quality" of DR brand strings. I dont forsee myself ever giving that company another dime.
