I like the sound of the 335 and the feel of the 339. Problem is, if I went for a 339 I'd rather have a Les Paul of some sort.
Same here. When you shrink the body down, you lose some of the hollowbody tone, and then why not get an LP.
They sound different. 339 sounds more like a les paul with a touch of clarity. 335 sounds bigger with more air and those woody/barking mids.
IMO, 339s are nice guitars but totally miss the boat on what is great about semi hollows.
I know, maybe because LP is like a million pounds...

Really, though, it's best to look at the 339 as its own thing, rather than as a 335 or lp substitute. But if you have to compare, from clean to normal overdrive/gain, it's very much a semi-hollowbody sound, with that "looseness" and growl. But at higher gain it does take on more of a solidbody flavour, as it's more focused than a full semi-hollow and doesn't feed back as much.
a 16 inch thinline body is not insanely large. For many people it is the epitome of ergonomic design.insanely large
