I own one. Kills all the gibsons I've ever owned. All the hardware and build quality is top notch. Fretwork is great too and the neck is one of the most comfortable I've ever played. This is the only guitar I've been able to stick with over the past few years, I usually buy something, use it for a couple of months, and then sell it and get something different again.

ive got one and love it. great playability. comfortable. great great great sound. i can get anything from smooth jazzy sounds to allman brothers tone to nice blues to rock to hard rock to metal (see my sig for the one i have). beautiful guitar as well. very durable as well. in fact, 2 days ago i dropped it (strap malfunction) on its headstock, and all that happened was it went out of tune. i was really relieved.

The EC series are not ESP, they are LTD guitars.
If you like the EC 1000, definitely check out an ESP Eclipse. Better wood, parts, and build quality.

ESPs are made in Japan, LTDs are made in Korea. The electronics are basically the same, but the finishing details, especially on the fingerboard and frets, are very different.
Comparing my ESPs to any LTDs I've played, the necks seem very rough and slower. I find myself fighting 3x as hard to play an LTD neck over an ESP.
