ESP horizon pickup swap

Its an ESP horizon II, maple neck through, ebony fretboard, mahogany wings, floyd rose.

I don't care for the EMG 57/66 combo, not a fan of active pickups.

Trying for an 80's rock sound, sort of hot, but with some dynamics - nothing really high output.

Thanks for any input...

Jazz neck 59/custom hybrid bridge just its passive counterpart. great guitar so far

i agree with Emiaba. 59/Custom Hybrid can cover tons of ground. other medium output great pickups that would suit your tone quest would be Full shred, Custom 5, Screamin Demon, or Dimarzio FRED. I would much rather go with an Alnico II pro for the neck myself (I prefer A2 neck pickups).

I prefer the 59 in the neck slot personally. but I find the jazz a great solution for that guitar, it belongs to this esp, even if it's too much on the bright side IMO. My guitar teacher owns one of those and I played it a couple of time. If you want to ear it, check it out on youtube, he's fabio cerrone of total guitar academy.
