ESP Skulls & Snakes Some Questions

Hello,

I have some questions related to my George Lynch ESP Skulls & Snakes guitar.

I've been with this guitar nearly for 11 years.

1) How to find is that real or fake? I can't find the serial or etc. of this guitar. (There are some numbers on neck plate but, I'm not sure it's the serial of this guitar?)

2) It's really hard to make bend on my below E string. And it's hard to make scream (harmonics) on my upper E string? What should be the problem? Is that related to the keyboard? Or this is the characteristics of these guitars? (Maybe it'll be better to see a tech about that.)

3) I would like to change my bridge and neck pickups. The bridge is really have too much treable and it's too weak. Not a sustained and strong pickup. The neck one has too much bass, if I'm on upper strings it makes the amps to get explosion cause of that bass. Actually, the pickups doesn't work properly. What should be the problem? Is that related to the pickups or sometihng else could trigger that problem?

4) What should be best choice and combination of bridge and neck pickups for my guitar?

5) What price I can sell this guitar?

I'm waiting for your comments.

Thanks in advance,

Re: ESP Skulls & Snakes Some Questions

Is that not the serial number on the neck plate?

Is that related to the keyboard?

Maybe it is a fake. I don't think these should have a keyboard LOL!

FWIW, It looks real to me.

And I wouldn't mess with the pickups. Fix you amp and playing first.

As for how much you could sell it for, where the heck are you? I'm guessing not in the US?

Those have a Duncan Scremin Demon in the bridge. FWIW, Lynch uses a booster in front of his amp to get his tone, so you may want to use something like a Tubescreamer

Re: ESP Skulls & Snakes Some Questions

+1 on the advice given above.

A guy in my area owns the exact same model of guitar. He curses the ESP Hot Rails clone neck pickup. Get an American Duncan - either a Rail or a Stack model.

Meanwhile, it would help to know what amplification you use and how often you change strings.

Exploding colons are a matter for the medical profession. :D

You might want to try posting this on the ESP Guitars forum too. I lurk there occasionally and they seem pretty quick on pointing out real and fake ESPs.

You can also email ESP some detailed pictures of the guitar and ask them

Re: ESP Skulls & Snakes Some Questions

I can't stop laughing about the 'keyboard' remark. I suppose the bridge pickup is not supposed to be powerful because Screamin' Demon is not a high output but medium output pickup. Read the description on this website. As for hard to make is the high E squeal, mine is hard too. I think this is related to the output of the pickup and your particular technique but it's not something that indicates a damage.

And I wonder why is that you have to wait for 11 years to ask these questions? ;) Un****ingbelievable.

Re: ESP Skulls & Snakes Some Questions

Hehe, thank you all for the comments. Actually, I'm getting paranoiac and obsessed with time and maybe, I got bored a bit with this guitar and need some difference on sound. That's why I'm asking those kind of weird questions after 11 years later =) By the way, this topic is teaching me while laughing :p Anyway, I got some answers with that topic. Now, I need to decide which of the pickup combination will be best for that guitar.

Lot's of suggestions with TB-4 (JB) on bridge and Cool Rails on neck and also TB-6 (Duncan Distortion) on bridge and Cool Rails on neck. I just need a best suitable pickup for a guitar like that. We have the structure information above. I really want an electric guitar that has need a generic range of sounds actually. It should have bright clean tones for all kind of rock music and also it should have sustanied and warm solo tones and also satiated plump tones on rthyms.

What if I go with TB-12 (Screamin Demon) which neck pick up go best for it?

Thanks,
