Esquire Wiring Check

I found this guy's wiring online and he confirms it does what it intends, where the push pull can change an esquire's wiring from stock to the cocked wah mod
http://www.tdpri.com/forum/just-pickups/356000-push-pull-eldred-mod-stock-tone-esquire.html

He confirmed it works, but I'm a little confused as to why. I'm seeing the same values on the resistor and caps as the original, rather than the values used in the Arlo or Eldred mods, which are known for the cocked wah sound.
Also which part of the switch could I tinker with different value caps and still retain stock (bassy sound) in the down position and the mod (cocked wah sound) in the up position? I'm using this idea as a starting point from which to add to my own Esquire when I mod it

Thank you wiring Gurus!

Re: Esquire Wiring Check

That wiring diagram will switch between the original Esquire/Broadcaster dark circuit and the half-assed one-cap-to-ground-equals-tone-turned-all-the-way-down-but-why-did-I-bother option.

The original Esquire dark circuit, IMHO, is a great innovation in that it has a warm jazzy tone but leaks treble so you still hear the percussion of the pick and strings. The result, to my ears, sounds like an archtop acoustic when strummed up near the neck.
