Looking for Real Life
alright, christmas & tax season are commin up, i won't be able to afford a cyber twin se, HOWEVER, I will be able to afford either a ab165 bassman & 2x12, or a fender hot rod deville. So i need you, my forum bros, to help me decide. As I've mentioned before i'm getting my ideal tones on my hotrod at low volumes, at higher ones, i kinda lose it, the speaker is helping, but still not quite there, I'm losing a lot of bass response &, well, everything typical. So, it's either a late 60's bassman, with a 2x12, loaded with 2 eminence red white & blues (probably closed back, and its real similar to a vintage 30 so think of those for reference), or a hot rod deville, with max headroom tubes, and the same 2 speakers.
The differences I'm looking for are:
expected bass response
how the bassman cleans differ from hot rod ones
how they each voice pedals (sounds crazy, but hot rods voice them totally different than twins, and I'm not a fan of the way twins do)
expected headroom
and just an overall kinda a/b ing of the 2 amps. Also let me add that if you've not played a deville or deluxe with a v30, its really similar to the way it sounds with the volume at like 1.5
