Ever tried Blade guitars?

Today I tested some of these beauties plugged into an H&K DFX Blue amp thing I didn't know about. Really aggressive sounding amp BTW.

Tried a red Blade Delta Pro (T-style) and I'm not big into Telecasters but I loved it.

I really liked the fact it has an active boost onboard, with adjustable EQ in the back on the guitar. Impossible to do on the fly, but it could be worse.
But nice things aside it had TONS of tone. Great neck and fretboard. I later tried a Squier Classic Vibe and a Fender Thinline '72 and they had nothing on this one.

Then I tried a Blade DD-3:


Great ****ing guitar man. Liked it much better than the PRS SE guitars I tried last week (it's 50% more expensive too so...) and frankly it felt like a much more expensive instrument. Killer guitar for lower tunings, the stock Levinson pickups sounded very precise and sharp, like a passive version of EMGs, ony a tad warmer and richer. Very light, impeccable fretwork and overall a tremendously solid guitar.

Anyone tried a Blade guitar? I'm really, really surprised by their quality and price point.

Never tried one but that DD-3 has a sharp look to it.

Certainly on a par with Fender (Japan). Precise woodworking and fretting. Pickups that leave some room for improvement. Perceived value entirely dependent upon price.

The DD-3 reminds me very strongly of the G&L Ascari.

I've tried the Ascari and the DD3 is a bit thinner, the neck is way thinner too, it's sort of a slim C profile whereas the Ascari is chunkier.
Very flat radius, too.

I really have a hard time comparing it to other guitars.
It's not as fat as any PRS or Fender I've ever tried, not as thin as something like an Ibanez S. Somewhere in between.

A few year ago, they had a Strat type guitar out that I was gaga over. The model was an RH4, and Id still love to have one. I love the one in the link, and they had one that was like a burgundy color with matching guard too.. amazing!

Im not really a strat guy, but Id LOVE to have this one.. Mercy

Levinson,I believe.

I kinda remember the older ones(Strat-styles),they got very high marks.

No hands on with one,tho...

Gary Gevinson designed Blade guitars in Switzerland. The original ones were made in Japan.

Had a RH4 back in the late 80's early 90's.
Had Duncan classic stacks and a JB, plus an OFR Floyd instead of the dreadful vibrato it was born with, ebony board, swampash body I think it was, the boost system was still in there.

It even had the smoked mirror pickguard, sold it and went back to traditional strats again.

This I played a few years back at a local store, pretty great for a Strat but didn't really pay much attention to it as I was looking for a through-and-through metal axe, Floyd, 24 frets, the works.

Didn't even know they did anything else TBH

The trem on the old Levinson Blades was brilliant! It was a design that had the bridge decked but allowed you to pull up on the bar. Between that and the electronics, it was a very modern Strat. Unfortunately, I'm not a Strat guy but I still have an eBay saved search for them.

Too rich for my blood. I think they're cool but that's more than I paid for any of my top 5 guitars. I've owned pricier pieces but most of them are gone, sold to fund items that suited me better and happened to be a good bit less expensive.

There's a local blues/classic rock player here that has two of them. Classic series RH-4 I believe. He has some great tone.

Never played them though.

I've bought a Blade Delta Standard for 400 € a couple months ago, choosing it over a Squire CV Telecaster and a bunch of cheap Fenders – fairly easy decision, although I had never heard of Blade guitars before, and liked the CV a lot. So far, so good: looks fine, sounds great (regardless of the VSC switch, which I seldom use) and feels even better. The only thing I might change sooner or later is the bridge pickup, which doesn't sound quite as crispy as I would like it. I was wondering if someone here has already tried sticking SD Broadcasters into a Blade Delta.
