Evergrove has two new tracks up!!!

Re: Evergrove has two new tracks up!!!

gee, you don't take criticism very well. i'll try to remember to just tell you everything you do is golden and just pat your ego next time. trust me dude, i get my share of criticism. you're probably right though, that's really not my type of music anyway.

the recording was great though. did you do it or did someone help you with the studio work?

Dude... please. I take critcism just fine. You're entitled to your opinion and I have no problem with that. I'm just ribbing you a little. ;)

Virtual Kevorkian (aka Jeff) did all the engineering.

he did a good job. and i listened to your other tracks, i think they were better. were you using a vox wah pedal in the solos?

I'm curious... what was it about the other two tracks that you liked better?

That's not a Vox, just a Crybaby 535Q with a Fasel inductor.

not sure entirely, but i think because there were more chord changes and sounded more original. sounded like a fender deville or something, and i love the tone you had. i still don't care too much for the lyrics nad that's probably what i personally think keeps the song from being top notch. other than that, everything else is pretty good. good sounding studio work. that kevorkian guy jeff does a good job.

Mkay, I see what you're getting at about the songs... as far as the other two go, for I've Had Enough my rhythm guitarist write the basic music and then I played my own diads and octaves over the basic chords, but yeah there's a lot more movement there. I also did the arranging on that one... Red Hot Summer is all me - music, lyrics and arrangement.

Jeff does do a great job, and he gets better every time we work with him. Plus he's a fabulously awesome guitarist to boot.

I apologize if I came on a little too strong with my initial response. I do want to listen to all types of criticism, and that includes listening to things I may not like (but need) to hear. I deal with it with a little bit of humor and light sarcasm (which I hoped to get across with smilies) but I guess my message was misunderstood.

To be honest, I’d be worried if I got nothing but positive responses… it would mean to me that someone isn’t really listening hard enough to fnd something that needs improvement. So thanks for listening and thanks for the input. :)

thanks man. i haven't started mine yet, so i'm sure i'll get to go through all the tribulations too. good luck with your album. that's a kick-ass little statue you got on your website by the way.

Re: Evergrove has two new tracks up!!!

I actually agree with shogunlegend as far as the songs go. But that may just be my taste, since i'm into some weird stuff. They were a bit typical sounding to me, and the lyrics are not very impressive. The recording sounds cool, and everything is well executed. Each to their own though. I'm not too fond of the songs, but i definately give a thumbs up for the recording and playing. You guys definately have it together
