Everything Axe set - wiring questions

I ordered an "Everything Axe" set for a MIJ strat.

While I'm waiting for the pickups, I was wondering if anyone has any idea for some cool wiring schemes for these pickups? My only requirement is that it be simple - like adding a push pull switch etc.

I think it'd be cool to be able to split the coils or have the bridge and neck on together etc.

Also, what pots do I need for these pickups. 250 or 500k?

Thanks.

Hi tombo. Welcome to the forum. If you wanted to keep it real simple, but still interesting, I would wire up the 5-way like normal, then add a push/pull pot to bring in the bridge pup at any time. That will give you the additional neck/bridge, and all-3-pups combo's. Having all three pups on at once has become one of my favorite sounds in my Strat. (The one in my sig.) :)

Welcome to the Forum!

Artie had a good suggestion there, also you could put in a push pull or mini switch so that you could split the lil 59 and/or JBjr.

First I would second Artie and Luke, but I'm also a spin-a-split fan for the simple but effective route with the lil 59 and jr.

Single coil sized bucker aren't famous for their split tone. Artie's suggested wiring it's pretty simple and just adds a bit more versatility to a set that already has a lot. Few months ago used to experiment a lot with odd pickups wirings and ended thinking that stock wiring it's ussually the best.

Thanks to EVERYONE who replied.

I will most likely go with Artie's suggestion. The funny thing is that the pickups cost half as much as the guitar :smack: This will be my "playing out" guitar.

Last question......so, which pots to use: 250 or 500k?
