evh 1x12 cab

anybody have one of these or try them out? I was thinking of getting one and putting in a Celestion greenback heritage g12 h 75 for my little EVH LBX. I only want a 1x12 cab with a fairly low watt speaker because the head is only 15 watts and if the speaker is around 30 watts it should be able to hit it harder then if I had larger wattage speakers in a 2x12 cab. I know the Heritage greenbacks are expensive but I like the tone of them.

Re: evh 1x12 cab

the g12h is a great speaker, loud, raw and aggressive in a classic kind of way. havent tried the evh lbx but might be a great match. it wont be quiet or polite

Re: evh 1x12 cab

right on, I'm hoping your right. I want a great little jam rig that I can push without blowing out the neigbors with some other amp that has per say like 40 watts. I hope to use it with a drummer who has an electronic set and he can adjust the volume on his Roland cube. its just a jam thing but I was hoping it would be loud enough to use at some small bar and just mike the cab and keep it close to me kinda thing. i already have the EVH 2x12 combo so i didnt want to do a 2x12 cab set up.

Re: evh 1x12 cab

i gig with a tweed deluxe with a g12h-30 anniversary on smaller gigs where we dont mic the drums, its an efficient speaker. not sure how the evh lbx sizes up but the speaker is great

Re: evh 1x12 cab

The EVH LBX is only 15 watts. Im hoping it will push a 30 watt speaker just fine. I was thinking small cabinet will also give it a little bass punch kinda thing. 15 watts is easy to push into its good tube clipping range without using an attenuator. I like the greenback 25m's too but for big brown sound I wanted to go with that heritage greenback. I can get the little 1x12 cab used for under $300 and I thought it was worth having someone else build it and wire it for that price as I dont want to deal with all the hassle to save a few bucks if its gunna already be that cheap.

Re: evh 1x12 cab

I have 3 of them- I use 2 with by EVH 50 watt, and 1 with my EVH LBX- and I also use them with my Orange Tiny Terror amp. They sound great with the EVH amps. Furthermore, the EVH amps have the resonance control on the back to get the 1x12 to simulate a 4x12
