EVH 50w midi switching

I saw online that you can control the channel switching of the 50W 5153 by looking it up to a midi controller or a multiFX unit and mapping each channel to separate foot switches.

Does anyone know if it is possible to set it up so it incorporated the channels into presets? IE, press switch 1 and you've got for instance green channel and reverb. Press switch 2 and you're on the red channel with a clean boost, a delay and a flanger?

Look up the manual for that particular amp, and look for a page called the 'Midi Implementation Chart'. It will spell out everything on the amp that can respond to different midi messages, like program change or control change.

Well, the manual says "multiple program change
messages can also be assigned to the same amp channel". But I dont really know anything about midi, so it doesn't really tell me much.

MIDI is black magic. I have the old 5150iii head, the one with shared gain & volume for green and blue and I control the channel switching with the BOSS MS-3, which is a very capable multi-effects unit and channel switcher at the same time. But the whole PC/CC midi design, combined with the amp specific implementation and menu diving required to set up the patch in the MS-3 forces me to go and re-read the same thing again every time when I have to make minor changes. It shouldn't really be this hard, it's 2025 A.D. ffs :)

It still should have a midi implementation chart. I don't know what "multiple program change
messages can also be assigned to the same amp channel" means, unless the amp itself has presets, and you can store them. Midi isn't too hard to understand, but you have to know what messages your controller can send, what messages your amp can receive, and how they are organized.

EDIT: if I am looking at the correct manual, it can use program change messages to select channel. Any midi controller can send those- it has a midi learn function which should make it easy. On the same midi channel, it also can use a control change message to turn off or on the effects loop.
