EVH Chorus pedal from Dunlop/MXR

Re: EVH Chorus pedal from Dunlop/MXR

My Spidervalve has all the chorus that I'll ever need. Especially with deep editing.

HOLY &^$%

I hope someone tells Ed that he is using ALL the wrong gear to get that EVH tone!!!!!!!!!!! There are lit4erally 1000's of threads explaining why it is impossible to get it right with the gear you see in that picture!!!!!!!

Do you remember his recorded tone when he was using those guitars?

Eddie should have used a Metalzone on at least a few tunes.

EVH Chorus pedal from Dunlop/MXR

Happy with my Zakk Wylde Chorus especially for less than 75 bucks

There is NO MXR pedal ever made worth $200 regardless of the paint job. There is absolutely no earthly reason to pay $200 for a chorus.

If you WANT to do this - fine. I have an $8k Les Paul Custom. But I'll be the first to tell you there is no need for that to make any sound you want either.

IDGAF. I want it.

And he should keep it a secret until after everyone starts raving on his amazing new modded EVH head.

Re: EVH Chorus pedal from Dunlop/MXR

All depends on how half-assed (or lack thereof) you are about the tone you are trying to achieve.

The saying, "You can't polish a turd" comes to mind...

Re: EVH Chorus pedal from Dunlop/MXR

Copying the exact historic version of some tone (if actual history is even available) is one thing.

Achieving a tone - there are as many ways as there are tones.

Re: EVH Chorus pedal from Dunlop/MXR

Hey - as long as you acknowledge that there is not a damn thing any other chorus half the price can't do....

I HIGHLY respect that opinion.

Acknowledge... don’t care... same difference, no? To me, a pedal is a package deal. I’m getting much more than a sound. I basically collect them for fun, and so it’s about the looks and the build and the story as much as anything.

Re: EVH Chorus pedal from Dunlop/MXR

That’s why I’m interested, it’s clearly not an EVH branded and striped Analog Chorus with minor changes (like the Phase 90, Flanger and Wah).

Well hell, anyone with some cool about them or a sense of style grabs a pedal or two because of the aesthetics....

I like pedals that turn my guts to liquid.

But do they have to be plugged in? :) I have some rad-looking pedals, but little need for them.

Re: EVH Chorus pedal from Dunlop/MXR

This one is all-in on the coolness factor plus just happens to be one of the best od/boosters I've tried.
