The specs look exactally the same as the herritage Greenback reissue but with the EVH paint job...

edit: if you read it closely, it IS the same as the herritage Greenback but with the EVH paint job and a "blackback"...and a price increase!

Yep, it's a 20w Heritage Greenback with a "Special" Sticker and black paint. Ooooo, ahhhh. Next we are going to see EVH Depends and tissue paper! No one will ever top Kiss as the top marketing whores though.

Ed didn't really push a lot of signature stuff until 10 years ago.... if i was in his stripped shoes i'd be adding my name to everything i could.... i don't really get why people get upset at artists using their name to make a buck... because a lot of the stuff with the name on it is also out there with out the name and the lower price... so no one is holding a gun to some fans head saying buy this now... people that buy it really want it... i see no harm... besides a new expanded mansion and new guest room for the artist

Im gonna top you all. Im gettin buried in an Eddie Van Halen Coffin! Can someone photshop one so I can take the picture to have my coffin painted in EVH stripes?Wouldnt that be cool at the funeral, and playing some Van Halen in the backgorund as the eulogy is delivered.

For years van halen said that he didn't want to do a re union because he didn't want to feel like he was taking advantage of the fans.

He did a tour with Sammy, now he's with Dave, and he's giving away all his secrets. I couldn't believe he was coming with with EVH Charvel replicas. Now he's got an MXR Phaser, Flanger, new 5150 amp, and SPEAKERS TOO?

Hey Ed, way to not take advantage of your fans.

I guess given the circumstances of his personal life the lure of a huge payday is hard to resist. I'm sure Fender is taking good care of him on the guitars & amps...

Besides, people have known about "his" tone for years... the old MXR pedals & building stripped guitars of their own...why shouldn't he cash in on "his" thing?! He's had signature gear for close to 15 years now! Nothing new...

Let's face it. Unfortunately it's the end of the road, and possibly for Rock. EVH has to cash in now while anyone still remembers the good old days. In 5, maybe 10 more years the general population won't really care....Rock doesn't get airplay anymore, and it's unlikely VH will have another hit album.... unless it's a Greatest Hits Live Album with Dave...

Same with the Led Zep Reunion. Page and Plant are almost ready for the grave (have you seen them lately?). Might as well cash in now and have that money for their retirement.

EVH, my opinion, is just trying to create an EVH brand name now, that Wolfgang will take over once EVH is gone. You'll have EVH amps, guitars, pedals under the Fender name. What's the difference between that and Jimi Hendrix's name being used all over? (Marshall Hendrix amp, Digitech pedals, software, Dunlop Wah's, Fender Strats, etc...).

In a way it is even worse, because it isn't even Jimi that take advantages, but whoever managed to get his hands on the rights for his name!

Here's the upside I see: Eddie's products have been pretty nice overall. The original 5150 series amps are now a staple for metal/rock guitarists at a reasonable price. The original music man's are rock solid axes that have held and increased in value. No idea on the Peavey Wolfgangs. The MXR though over priced are nice little pedals. The new 5150 III is a completely separate 3 channel beast that seems like a rock solid piece of gear though pretty overpriced.

I mean he could have slapped his name on second rate gear and still charged a tidy sum, but at least his stuff is nice.

most of teh Van Halen Signature stuff is built for real life on the road.... i see no fault with any of it

There is a right point in. This is EVH's stuff vintage and custom gear available to the public at a cheaper then vintage (in the case of the phaser) and easier then making or modding gear yourself. And wouldn't you rather I respected musician gets a little money then multi million dollar companies getting all the cash for a respected musician's signature style.
