For me it was never Eddie's soloing that blew me away (though it rules) I always thought he was the best rhythm player and writer ever. His riffs were always great and interesting.

His tone sounds great going through that thing, wonder what prices are going to be?

Thank you for posting the links to those videos! Very cool... Ed seemed awful nervous, and maybe a little punch drunk, but still one of my all time favourites.....

Well not as good as in his youth...but still better than the last thing I heard him play live!
But.....he really needs to play something else!!
As he probally would have little trouble doing, I think he is bored out of his skull doing the usual old thing!!!!
He has alot of other directions he could go if it suited him!

The amp sound more like a soldano marshall mix that the 5150 was supposed to be according Eddie in a interview during the recording of F.U.C.K. I love the sound and he played awesome.

I'm sure that amp sounds much differant in person than it does on youtube!

You're hearing the microphone, the microphone placement, the mixer, the room and however the recording has been EQed...not the actual amp.

And Eddie, even on an off day, can still play rings around just about anyone.

It's like when Muhammad Ali came back in 1971 and everyone said he wasn't the boxer he used to be...but he was still 10 times better than anyone else!

Heck...no one is who they used to be. Not me...not you...not anyone. You're who you are now...

i can't help but wonder if the EVH line of amps, FX's and guitars will offer more affordable gear to working stiffs as well... I can't afford a car and new EVH gear myself... it will be interesting what the street prices on some of this stuff will be...


I'd love to sell the car and get the amps and guitars but i need the car for work, can't work in my area without one... i need to work so i can have a car.... i need the car so i can work..... i need to work so i can have a car....... i'm dizzy. darn... next i have to while about saving for a place to live..

He probably still plays more piano than guitar. When he gets bored he just picks up another instrument.

I like the amp's tone. Luckily no-one bought an eventide along to mess it up.

A long time ago Eddie always wanted to do a project where he got all his favorite singers and did a song with each. But since Santana beat him to the punch I doubt that will ever happen.

My only beef with Eddie is, he doesn't seem to be that great at improv. He always seems to play the same ole, same ole. He seems to be more a writer then a jammer. Plus he's not really a shredder who can go do a bunch of scales and sweep picking to impress everyone.

Plus I don't think it's a drunk idiot thing, I think he's very shy and unless he can be behind his guitar, he wouldn't want to be onstage in front of everyone talking. I know I can play in front of people, but if I have to grab a mic and give a speech, I freeze.

I was thinking the same thing.... You kind of wonder after many years of playing in front of large crowds you'd think you'd get used to being in front of people... Maybe not....

I myself have huge stage fright.... many times i've cut myself off at the pass saying something in my mic in bars and stuff.... at my sisters wedding i froze at the mic...

but in some interviews from 20 years ago. even 10 years ago, Ed's speech and public personality was much different... every one changes i guess but makes me wonder whats up with ED these days....

Here's the thing:

the number one benefit FMIC will gain from EVH coming into the fold wiil be getting an FMIC EVH amp to sell. They won't make any real money off the charvels or custom fenders, but they will sell a decent amount of EVH amps, and far more importantly will finally have a high gain amp that people will take seriously. That will be worth every penny to them.

Anyone can sound like eddie if they know that tapping technique, infact if you do that it's damn near impossible to not sound like him.

I saw this, playing wasnt too great, it had its moments, but tone was good, and the way that pickup cleaned up was insane!!!!!!!!!
