EVH star NAMM preview

Re: EVH star NAMM preview

Oh I no problem with basswood. Its just that every single guitar in the line is basswood. Im sure its for cost reasons. What if the original star guitar is alder? why wouldn't they use alder? Like I said....prolly costs

Could be costs. His big thing has been about making them affordable. The original was probably alder or maybe mahogany. IDK. I've been wanting to try one of the Strat models. I could see myself with one of those, probably the bumble bee scheme.

I really respect him for making them affordable. I like that fact that all the wolfgangs have the same pickups, tremolo (supposedly). Not just making lower end models and throwing in what ever parts in it because its lower end

Re: EVH star NAMM preview

I have to agree, the body is nice but the headstock is one of the most awful I've ever seen

Re: EVH star NAMM preview

How long until they reissue that stupid yellow Hydra?

Let's hope not :(
But on the other hand, doesn't the Hydra design belong to Karl Sandoval?
The same guy that built guitars for George Lynch and Randy Rhoads?

There is a model or 2 with a mahogany body. I wish he would use ASH like his original Feankenstrat for the striped series. At lease SOME of the striped series.

Re: EVH star NAMM preview

If it had a hockey stick headstock there would be people complaining cause it isnt like the original.

Kind of a no win situation.
