EVH Wolfgang Special or Washburn N24?

Re: EVH Wolfgang Special or Washburn N24?

the other thing about my wolfgang neck is that when I first got it, the neck was super grainy to the touch and now that I've played it for a few weeks, its almost completely smooth now. Super nice feeling

Just a wee question, did you need to adapt slightly to the vintage frets? Or had you previously played with frets like that?

never used smaller frets before, but they didn't seem that strange because the SS are super slippery, so they kind of feel like bigger frets when bending

Yes, more than likely they got rid of the SS frets to keep the price down.

other things I've noticed:
-They got rid of the floyd locking stop tail option. It looks like they went to a regular nut/stop tail
-Only the USA model has a quarter sawn neck

Actually by 'North American' they mean Mexican-made, meaning the specials are moving from China to their Mexico facility:

Other than that a couple of changes. They've adopted black hardware on all the specials and the new specials are getting archtop bodies instead of flat top. The only downside I see is losing the SS frets, I think they've dropped it for their lower-budget lines cause stainless steel is really hard to work with.

Since there's nothing about the USA models I think it's safe to assume that the USA line will be unchanged.
