Man I had a red sunburst SG2000 and this SA2000 in each hand ... I wish I'd have bought them both. Talk about heavy ... that SG2000 was heavy and sustain for days. I liked the SA2000 because it had a slab of maple down the center ... made it really versatile.
I kept the SA2000 stock ... Alnico 5 and they measure 8.3k (neck) and 8.8k (bridge). I was afraid I'd ruin it! What kind of pickups did you put in the SG2000?

My SG2000 is a tobacco type burst and had the same type Alnico 5 pickups in it...I wanna say they are also around those same DC readings! I did keep the pickups but just got to a point where I prefer alnico II pickups and it wasn't getting much play time...I dropped in an Alnico II Pro in the neck and a Custom Custom in the bridge, all new pots (the originals gave it up one at a time over the course of about a year) and switch.

It is a great guitar...you're right it is heavy as hell but I love it!
