Farty Noise from Mark IV

Hello All,
A couple of weeks ago I was having a blubby/farty bass sound through my Mark IV. You all properly suggested me to turn down the bass on my amp. That seemed to help, however I decided to put aside my Strat and pickup my tele, and Ibanez, and low and behold, the farty noise is gone.
My new question is, what could be wrong with my strat?
I have a New JB Jr in the bridge, and some Fender Texas Hots in the Neck and Mid.
Could a cold solder joint, bad pot, cap, or input jack cause this problem.
Once again any help would be great.

Maybe your strat has GAS!!! Try some BEANO!!! :laugh2:

that was the OD channel :laugh2:

seriously though, it sounds like a cold solder joint or a bad pot. do all of the pickups have the same problem? if so, its in the volume n tone section onwards..

(on a side note, i love mesa OD, i just wanted to get in there before seafoamer :laugh2: )

Yepper, it was the OD channel, or at least that's where I noticed the problem the most.
Once I determined it was the guitar not the amp, I was thinking along those lines. And for the record, the OD on my Mark IV works for me. I like the way is sounds, and I like the way I sound through it. On any guitar other than my strat that is.
Well, looks like it's back to the tech tomorrow for the Frankenstrat.

If the Farty sounds are coinciding w/ the "low-end thump", might be the action, or pick-up height.

when you move between the pickups on the strat, does the noise keep on?

if not, chances are it's the pickup height

I notice the noise the most at the point of attack. When I hit a chords lower strings it farts at me. It doesn't matter what pickup selection I have it on, the noise keeps coming at me.
It's really frusterating, but since I have 2 other guitars, Fart Free, i'm cool for now.
