I chose a Gibson Explorer because to me, they're the perfect axe for hard rockers/thrash. Love the shape and the style, it screams attitude.

Realistically, there's probably more actual artists that play Jackson, so I'm guessing that'll win.

nice answers. i like the jackson USA kellys and the nj bc richs.(no speedloader)

I'd say a V or Explorer. They're pretty much the ultimate thrash guitar, even if they did come around in '58.

I wouldn´t call BLS or Pantera thrash, though. Thrash is generally defined more along the lines of Exodus, Slayer or old Metallica

That said, a Jackson will do anything great, this is where it starts getting hard for anything else

The only thing I would do with a les paul or strat is to make my dog crap on it.

Epiphone is better. Play Epiphone. They are the best.
For heavy trash I recommend a mexican made Crapocaster.

I Have an Invader in the bridge of mine and the guitar sounds great for trash metal.

ull see hammett playing a strat style esp. but they are suited more for metal.
he also plays with fender strats... and him and hetfield play les pauls sometimes.
zakk wylde has a les paul... same with slash (isnt really thrash).

alot of people use pauls n' strats for everything.

i get ur point though.
