Favorite 1 pickup guitars and why?

Fave single pickup guitars? I had a '59 Junior back in the 80's that honked, just a scream to play. Now I guess the only single pickup I have is my Eastman AR-810 with the stock neck pickup (it's a Kent Armstrong, I think).

I found it. It's under the "Stories" menu. I SO want one of these:

i love mine, although its a baritone so a little different. i know a turner dealer who kept bringing me different guitars to try. the model 1 is awesome but nothing that flipped my skirt. the pup on the model t was so good i had to have a guitar with it and since i didnt have a baritone, there we go.

I have a 1988 Kramer Baretta with a Kline painted graphic.
A Precision Guitar Kits SG Jr that I built in 2011.
I can change both my frankenstrats to single humbucker with a pickguard change.
Currently in the process of building a Precision Guitar Kits Les Paul Jr Double-cut. Next step is paint.

A single P90 guitar is so fun. You really have to use your hands to get the different sounds you want and having a good P90 makes all the difference. Most of my electrics have dual humbuckers but single-pickup guitars are definitely fun to play. I could gig easily with one and not have a worry but in my current band, having that neck pickup is a must for some songs.

Wow, I haven't seen this version! What a great idea!

I had been meaning to get one since they were first announced, which was in 2015 or 2016, IIRC. Could never really settle on a color, and they were actually a bit difficult to negotiate on. The most I could get anyone to peel off was $75 for a NAMM demo, considered B-stock, without manufacturer's warranty. That's 15 percent. On most things, you can get 15 percent off a band new model with intact warranty, without much hassle. It proved difficult on this guitar. But I had patience and finally landed the right one at the right price. Had never considered the blue before (I had pretty much settled on Candy Apple Red), but then it struck me: BLACK GUARD. It'll look great, and it'll be a look I've never owned before. Like so:

Here’s pics of mine. The Strat is now dual humbuckers but was originally made like the pic.

Almost all of my guitars have two pickups, but I mostly use the neck for an "off" position.

I’m not a Tele guy but I love that guitar!!

The single pickup guitars I've owned and loved most were an original 50's Les Paul Junior and a '63 Firebird 1 like Clapton used in Cream.

Unfortunately the necks broke in both of those guitars and afterwards they just weren't the same.

I like my '54 Esquire, but now that it has the hidden Brad Paisley neck pickup it's more versatile and more like a Tele.

I've seen a few guitars in this thread that have a switch, does that count?

I don't see why not. Still one pickup. An Esquire has a 3-way blade switch. My SG Jr has a slide switch on the cavity cover plate to tap the P90. The Strat has a push/pull to split the humbucker (though that guard is off it now).

I have two late-eighties Kramer Baretta I models. I somehow don't have photos of either available at present, but they are look like the top guitar here...

My apologies for the wait; here is a photo of both!

I play other guitars, and they can be a lot of fun, but as far as rock goes, these are really all I need: 1 HB, 1 volume, and a Floyd.
