Favorite humbucker sized p-90?

How do they differ from the Phatcats?

I've never changed magnets in the Phatcats.

I wonder if changing the alnico 2 to roughcast A5 magnets would give the bridge Phatcat pickup more of the Mississippi Queen sound?

Of course Leslie now uses a humbucker to get that sound.

A cranked Marshall or Marshall Plexi clone type amp (although Leslie now uses a Blackstar) and the right playing touch and vibrato is really the key to getting that sound..
 
Duncan ought to make a P90 and a Phatcat specifically designed to make it easy to get that overdriven P90 Mississippi Queen sound.

Seems like a lot of us think Mountain when we think P90 or Phatcat.
 
Dean actually had a Leslie West pickup, but it was a regular humbucker. Never tried it, so I don't know if it gets 'that tone'.

Right. Well "that tone" is a plexi Marshall or Marshall clone like the Stramp Leslie used back in the day even more than the pickup.

Just like Clapton's tone with Cream is mostly the Marshall. Not the pickups in his SG.

Still, I wish the bridge Phatcat was a little stronger and throatier.
