Re: Favorite Humbuckers pt. 2

Distortion all the way!! i have one in my 2 guitars and if i would buy a new one, that s the one i would put in

Re: Favorite Humbuckers pt. 2

I would have to say that the full shred is Seymour Duncans most underated pickup.

Re: Favorite Humbuckers pt. 2

I dumpster dived for this thread part 2 on page 176 and for part 1 around page 100 lol. the distortion rules.

I was always a JB guy, but I've just ordered a Dimebucker to go in a new custom guitar. Ash body, let's see how the blades and ceramic go.

Re: Favorite Humbuckers pt. 2

I haven't voted because I am stupid (gearjoneser) and don't like the C5. I also don't like the JB I haven't tried the other ones but from the clips on the site I'd say distortion or CC.

Re: Favorite Humbuckers pt. 2

My vote goes for the invader because it's the only SD Humbucker I've tried out, but it fills my needs for now(learning solos, and it does what I need it to do for now)

Re: Favorite Humbuckers pt. 2

From the SD pickups i ever tried.. i liked the CUSTOM CUSTOM.
the duncan distortion, in the time i tested/played, i didn´t like it. too much output and harsh.

Re: Favorite Humbuckers pt. 2

i love the Dime and the Full Shred but i prefer the dime just a little bit so it got my vote

Re: Favorite Humbuckers pt. 2

Custom, then Custom 5 and JB. I have never tried a Distortion but based on reviews and clips I am guessing it would be in my top 3.

P.S. I'll put in another vote for a Custom 4 :)

Re: Favorite Humbuckers pt. 2

Custom Custom for me. Has those smooth buttery highs, nice mids, good lows that are on the edge of tightness and muddiness without being muddy. Gotta love it.

Re: Favorite Humbuckers pt. 2

Out of the Duncan's i have a lot depends on what you combine them with. I have a thin line Tele that has a JazzN and 59B that sounds really really good. I have another Tele that has a pair of Pearly Gates that sounds real good but a touch bright. I think the brightness is due to the lack of girth in the guitar itself not the pickups. Then I have a Les Paul standard with a set of Alnico II slash pickups that are incredible for what I do great blues/rock buckers. Hard to pick just one that jumps out there are so many variables
