Re: Favorite neck wood(s) and why?

We grow it here in NZ too so some may be locally grown, I got given a bunch of offcuts from a cabinet maker who I did some work for, I can get 85mm x 19mm for $5.50 per metre, might be cheaper to get Koa by the time you add shipping? - let me know if you want me to look further into it

Cool, thank you. I know a place where I can buy Koa stateside, but I'm not sure which one will be more affordable at the end of the day. Is it linear meter? In California getting Koa could go either way in price. I don't know the conversion, I usually use a calculator, but I think it's 60-70 usd a board foot(volumetric, not that I think it needed to be listed, but for anyone buying lumber in the rough).

Quartersawn hard maple

Or

3 piece maple

"Joint": ESP assymetrical bolt-on w/ shaved heel

Finish: bare, oil-rubbed w/ authentic Boiled Linseed Oil (the real stuff, not the "oil finish" bottles -- think 'cheese' vs. 'processed cheese product')
