I know you can technically "shred" on a Fender or Gibson, but when I think of guitar theatrics, there are certain brands that come to mind. I've of course included "other" for all the options that I foolishly missed. ;)

Re: Favorite "Shred" guitar brand?

i'm somewhere between Jackson and BC Rich and would like to place a negative vote for Ibanez and Ernie Ball / Music Man cuz I do not like them.

Re: Favorite "Shred" guitar brand?

I voted for ESP ... my EC-1000 rocks. I think you could of also included Schecter in there.

Re: Favorite "Shred" guitar brand?

I voted Jackson since I have two and love them. But being fair, I've never played ANY of the others, apart from a cheap JS-100 Ibanez which was pretty crap.

Re: Favorite "Shred" guitar brand?

I had to vote Others. The neck on my Schecter Hellraiser 7 is just the most shreadble neck i've ever played.

Re: Favorite "Shred" guitar brand?

I voted Ibanez because I have several, they play great, and they are relatively inexpensive. However the coolest guitars from the '80s were Charvels

Re: Favorite "Shred" guitar brand?

Jackson!!! I like ESP also but I have never owned one, played a few but never owned.

Re: Favorite "Shred" guitar brand?

I voted ESP because it's what I play (but I've owned Ibanez and Jacksons), but my friend, who is a far better shredder than I am, swears by Jacksons... particularly the fusion professionals of the 90s. They have amazing necks!

Re: Favorite "Shred" guitar brand?

i've always loved USA Jackson guitars... i'm not speed or metal player either... i just love the designs and the hardware and the quality about these guitars... Dinkies, Soloists... nice super strats... i'd own a bunch of them if i was able too.. i've made do with some older imported Jacksons and Charvels

Re: Favorite "Shred" guitar brand?

G&L! G&L, has built several "Shred" guitars! Rampage, Superhawk, Invader, & Climax were all great guitars. They currently build an Invader model which is different from the 80's version.
