Jackson is my number one.

Parker would be my second.

Parkers play the best (out of everything, nothing else comes close), but Jackson just has that sound and feel that makes me want to chug and shred.

A Parker with a Floyd....well now, that would be some serious Jackson competition.

Ibby is good, but the tone of Ibby's has always been kind of neutral for me.

Vigier ,Anderson or Suhr with tall fretwires /Scalloped necks....

Oh and ofcourse the Malmsteen Strat....That thing is the ultimate shred machine

I'm not a shredder but 8 times out of 10, if you see a pro shredder, he's wielding an Ibanez. Vai, Satch, the list goes on and on.

So? Just because a company forks tons of money to sponsor dudes has nothing to do with the quality of the guitar. That's merely marketing and business talking there. Do you honestly think Vai, Satch, and the rest of those dudes only play Ibanez when they aren't in the public eye? Please.

I own a Prestige , a Peavey Vandenberg ,and played many different guitars.
None of my guitars "shreds" like the Malmsteen strat ,or a Alder superstrat with bolt-on maple neck/board , jumbo fretts ,Floyd etc.
Vigier ,Anderson ,Suhr....They know how to do that kind of guitars really well.They got the torch from Wayne Charvel ,and brought it to the next level.

Charvel and Wayne are two completely different guitar companies.

That's my bad. I wanted to separate Charvel from Jackson and I messed up there.

Also, as I stated in KGMESSIER's thread, I intend this to be more for ALL technical guitar genres, not just "shred". Metal, Fusion, etc. anything that requires prolific skill and a well crafted instrument.

Yeah, sponsorships usually boil down to money. Vai was going to sign with Anderson or something like that, and since Ibanez wasn't as high class he said that would mean he could pick up his sig at a local store if anything happened to the one was carrying. Or so I heard. That doesn't mean a huge bag of cash wasn't handed to him for signing.

As for the OP, as I said in another thread...

But in all honesty, I don't like Ibanez's necks, because they're sooo thin. If they were just as flat and a little bit thicker I'd love them. It's great when you're in the store and wanna rip out some shreds or pickup your friend's Ibanez and use it to play something jaw dropping, but I don't think I could have one in the long run, because I don't shred 24/7, and even with my Strat's neck I can't stand chording too long with it because it's pretty thin. It's the "modern" flat Fender neck.

My perfect shredding guitar has to be something more than a shredstick. It would have to be the perfect guitar in every sense.

Fave is still Jackson for "looks" (read:graphics and body styles), stage presence (yeah they have it on their own ), speed-demonism, bulletproff hardware, (period) Heavy Metal to the hilt really (some players won't touch 'em simply for that; it's valid), and they have many models to choose from to get the specific technical aspect of your playing you're willing to explore to the masses (or just the 'mites in your bedroom ). Tools for the soul! Indeed.

Well, when I think Shred Guitar I immediately think of Jackson, nevertheless when I think on which guitar I'd like to shred on then it would be a Carvin.

They just feel so much more like "home" (and mind you, I don't even own either a Jackson OR a Carvin, yet...)

Most of the "shredder brands" like Ibanez, B.C. Rich, Jackson, Charvel, etc. don't really do it for me. But I do like Hamer, Dean, and some of G&L's more "shred-oriented" models.

Jackson has become my favorite in recent years, though I've played a lot of great Ibanez and ESP, and I like Charvel a lot. Haven't really played many of the rest.
