I much prefer Fenders over the others. The necks on Ibanez/Charvel/Jacksons are all to thin to me, and truth be told, I haven't played a G&L or Dean Strat style, so I can't comment on those. I didn't really like the feel of the few Schecters I played, maybe I played some bad ones because I've heard good things about them.
If I want to play a Strat, it's gotta be a Fender.

Leo got it 95% right the first time. You can always put a humbucker in the bridge of a strat, or play around with the hardware, or the fret board radius and frets, or the electronics, to make it how you want it. It's Just an amazing thing. You can play virtually any genre with a Fender strat.
I like strat head Charvels a lot too, but they are really designed for rock styles and not much else.

Music Man! I love my Silhouette Special, it's so versatile :notworthy
My G&L would come at a close second place. In terms of playability they're about even, but the Silhouette is a much more comfortable guitar because of its compact size and somehow it just feels... well, right!

G&L`s are good but the necks seem very narrow to me especially at the first few frets,plus the headstocks are hideous!!!!
