favorite top and color finish

What is your personal favorite top and color option? Flame top, Quilt top, etc...Tobacco burst, black, red....I'm going to get a custom built and I am the most indecisive person on earth IMHO. I love the vintage tobacco burst with the flame top. What about you guys? Maybe someone will come up with something I have not even considered. :22:

I'm the same way...however, warmoth makes an LPS carved top body in blue burst, and it has to be the most beautiful body i've ever seen (on a guitar anyway :newangel: ) Someday, I'm going to order one of these....someday...

Frankly I LOOOOVVVEEEE :32: quilted maple tops. But also some of those blue stain finishes look really nice. In fact I think some of the sexiest guitars I have seen are blue stain burst Flame and Quilt........yep......sexy. Red looks cool, too. Go to Gibson and check the different paint jobs they have for LP's alot of thems is pretty nice. PRS guitars has some cool paint jobs as well. Just do some looking around at different companies and guitars and find what you like best. Sadly I am not a fan of Tobacco bursts. :sad:

Looking at it on the computer at work (low quality monitor) its not very special...but on my computer at home, its just so damn vibrant, and such beautiful contrast between the bright blues and black.

Blue flamed top

Purple to blue burst on a quilted top (O M F G best looking axe ever) wish i had pics of that LP.. might get taht on my new strat actually!

Or just a bog standard sunburst.

I generally like flame tops better, but a top notch quilt in a translucent finish is hard to beat. I can't really narrow it down any better than that, because I generally judge each guitar on how it strikes me. This one has my fancy right now, in addition to the Heritage LP I'm getting ready to order.

I'm all about three-tone sunburst over just about any wood. My second favorite is a nice candy apple red. Mmm.

I hate quilt tops, so I'd want to get a highly flamed top (like my Grosh). I'm a sucker for orange. It's my favorite color and whenever I see those H-S-S Tom Andersons... it makes me drool!
