Re: Favourite Guitar

I don't prefer many of these guitar, because they have heels. I do however want to own a Gibson Les Paul Custom or Supreme one day, but that day is at least a decade away :)!
Guitars I prefer are Explorer shaped but Les Paul shapes make a close second, with heelless set necks or neck thru body design. So Jackson Custom Shop Kelly's, ESP Eclipse Customs and such are defenitely OK in my book

BTW, I voted Gibson Les Paul, since it comes closest to my fave

Re: Favourite Guitar

Lester. Preferably light weight (for a 'Paul) and with a pair of sweet PAF class pickups. :burnout:

Re: Favourite Guitar

hmmmmmmm:scratchch.....I may have to ponder on this for awhile.:9:

Les Paul for tone and playability, and I also think they are the most beautiful guitars by far. The SG is a close second. A Strat would be my second choice based on tone alone. My hands are too big (sausage fingers) for those skinny Tele necks.
there's more than one tele neck :laugh2: (check out warmoth) but I hear what you say (on newer instruments)

Re: Favourite Guitar

Strat can do anything, trem, HB sounds, replace any part. Another thing to consider is if you could have one guitar what would it be.
For me a HSH fantasy strat with 7 coils. the neck= strat-size PAF Hbucker and vintage strat Single coil in the same cavity. Middle= Vintage strat pup w/ 5-2 concept rod magnets. Bridge= strat-size HB (PAF vibe with better harmonics wound to 10k) and vintage Broadcaster single coil (same cavity). Then have it wired for all the posible pup combos

I'm confused. Fenders have wider necks than Gibsons.

Gibson SG for me.

Nothing plays like one, and the access to the upper frets is unequalled.

:)

Apart from a Les Paul double cut, of course.... ;)

...and a Hamer... ;)

Re: Favourite Guitar

as for me, Music Man John Petruci 7 string, all the way! But I'm also in love with my antiquity-loaded strat.

Re: Favourite Guitar

I voted SG because of the choices it was probably the closest to a mahogany humbucker Frankenstrat.

Re: Favourite Guitar

Predictably the les paul is numero uno while the strat is number two, the sg is number 3 and tele is number 4...... for some reason i predicted this to myself and i was right.

Re: Favourite Guitar

Peavey Wolfgang, EB/MM Axis, EB/MM John Petrucci, Gibson Les Paul, Fender Strat, Old, handmade BC Rich guitars/Moser Custom Shop.

Re: Favourite Guitar

My fav guitar at the moment is a Les Paul but I bought a squier as a starter because I tried my friends and it was really good

Re: Favourite Guitar

Pauls and Strats, equally. Then, McCarty and Tele. Then, Martin acoustics.
Then.....OK, I just slapped myself.
